HypnoBirthing®  is the greatest gift you can give to you and your baby.  It provides a safe, peaceful and empowering birth, and creates a strong bond between Baby, Mother and Birth Companion, whether you are birthing at home or in a hospital setting.

Widely acclaimed as the most remarkable method to come on the birthing scene in decades, HypnoBirthing is changing the way expectant parents and medical professionals view birthing. HypnoBirthing® - The Mongan Method is as much a philosophy as it is a technique.

HypnoBirthing childbirth education is a combination of relaxation, breathing, and visualization techniques that are used to control pain during childbirth.  It helps women build confidence in themselves and their bodies by introducing ways to create deep relaxation, which allows the body's muscles to work the way they are intended during childbirth.  Daily Positive Affirmations will also help you achieve easier, more comfortable birthing.

You will learn how to achieve this kind of relaxation and learn to use your natural birthing instincts for a calm, peaceful and comfortable birthing.   Enjoy shorter labors due to the lack of resistance in the birthing muscles.  Also using fewer drugs or no drugs, which means less risk of side effects for mother and baby.

When you have your baby with HypnoBirthing, you will be conversant and in good spirits – totally relaxed, but fully in control.  Awake throughout, you will be aware of your body’s surges; but because you will have trained yourself to reach complete relaxation, you will be free of the fear and tension that prevents the muscles of your body from functioning as nature intended them to.  In this calm state your body’s natural relaxant, endorphins, replaces the stress hormones that constrict and cause pain.

You've probably come to this website because you are pregnant or thinking about becoming pregnant.

I was once in your place, wondering about the whole birthing process.  Although I knew women who gave birth without the use of drugs, could I really do this?  It was totally foreign to me and watching birthing videos solidified this doubt even more.

I was blessed to have two friends who were HypnoBirthing practitioners and urged me to learn this method.  I completed the course, practiced at home by myself and also with my husband, my birthing companion.

The principles of HypnoBirthing really made sense to me.  It was simple and relaxing.  For me, one of the most helpful parts of the training was listening to the Affirmations CD.  Getting into a comfortable position, hearing the positive birthing affirmations and deeply breathing was a highlight of my day.  I usually fell asleep listening to it (in the classes, you will find out that this is a good thing to do!)

During the birth of my first baby, I relaxed, visualized and actually slept through a big part of my labor.   Waking in the morning to find out my cervix was fully thinned and opened (dialated).....three hours later I was fully awake and alert, holding my baby girl.

During my second birth, my body was so relaxed that I didn't realize that the tightening sensations I felt were real birth surges (contractions).  About a 1/2 hour before giving birth, I wondered, why are the surges so strong for the beginning of my birthing process?  Well......... I was much farther along in the process than I realized, that's why!  Once again, HypnoBirthing proved itself and supported me in having a beautiful birthing.

HypnoBirthing® - The Mongan Method, has led me to see that our bodies are truly designed to give birth, naturally, easily and comfortably. I was so inspired by the births of my daughters, I became certified to teach HypnoBirthing to others.

It is often said that "we spend more money on our cars than our bodies".  Many of us are also very happy and ready to spend thousands of dollars on our weddings, a very important day in our lives.  We even have Wedding Planners to help us make the day perfect. I've come to believe, after experiencing the births of my daughters, there cannot be any more special day than receiving a child into the world happily and gently.

With this perspective in mind, it seems only natural to do whatever we can as parents to guarantee this.  Find joy in this responsibility.  Find liberation in this way of thinking.  Pablo Casals said, “The child must know that he is a miracle, that since the beginning of the world there hasn't been, and until the end of the world there will not be, another child like him.”  Let’s join together to protect this miracle, to ensure the well being of our children, and be an advocate for their happiness.  Let’s make a stand for Peaceful Birthing.....in fact, let me be your Birth Planner!!

I look forward to the opportunity to share knowledge and experience of HypnoBirthing with you, to help create the best birthing for you.

"HypnoBirthing is very different from any of the other techniques of natural childbirth, in that the other methods focus on ways of distracting the mom's attention from pain.  Some methods are designed to draw mom's attention to a spot and then keep her busy with a breathing pattern until the surge (contraction) was over. The concept that pain must be dealt with is ever present in other methods, though they do recognize that the pain is tolerated with relaxation.

HypnoBirthing operates from a general premise that birth is natural, normal, and healthy, and as a normal physiological function of the female body, does not need to be accompanied by pain.  Our focus is on teaching mom to thoroughly relax her body and to release limiting thoughts so that endorphins are prevalent, rather than catecholamines, the constrictor hormones. When her body is thoroughly relaxed the birthing muscles receive the adequate amount of oxygen and blood that muscles need to function, and the body opens and births as it was designed to."
